A small mom-and-pop bakery that specializes in scratch made Texas style sweet and savory kolaches. This bakery offers other pastries and baked treats such as cookies, cream horns, cake balls, and made to order gift trays.
What’s the Problem
Koolaches was put together in a rushed half-hazard sort of way. Due to this, the current trademark does not communicate that it is a Texas bakery. It resembles a cartoonish mural rather than an identity. The touchpoints are few; a business card and a menu, which do not connect to a branding system.
Find a Solution
COMMUNICATE TEXAS BAKERY
Koolaches trademark features a conglomerate shape of the following: sweet and savory kolaches, dough, a rolling pin, and the lone star of Texas. These words were shortlisted from a long list of bakery characteristics and mixed to perfection with a hint of San Antonio.
MARKET TO DOWNTOWN
These point of sale items were designed to help the small bakery do more business in multiple locations in and around the downtown area.
AN INVITING ENVIRONMENT
The ambience of this bakery was focused on mixing Texas elements, such as saloon doors and bars, with bakery elements, like decorative parchment paper, to create the experience of a quaint Texas bakery.
SPREAD THE WORD
To raise awareness of this small Texas bakery some Texas-Size Guerilla Marketing was designed. Two different large-scale bakery display cases were fashioned. One, a large glass box on the side of a building with large Styrofoam pastries. The other, a bus stop with Styrofoam and printed pastries for the illusion of being inside a bakery case.
